4:51 a.m. Report of a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle at the gas pumps at JJ’s Pit Stop on N. Broadway St. The complainant advised that the vehicle parked, and no one got in or out. The officer spoke with the driver who advised that they were counting change to purchase items from the store.
5:24 a.m. Report of suspicious activity in the 200 block of Apache Dr. The complainant advised that they returned to their residence and a door that should not have been locked was now locked. The residence was checked by the officer. No one was located inside.
7:51 a.m. Report of an alarm in the 20 block of Washington Ave. Building cleared. Checked ok.
8:05 a.m. Report of harassment in the 500 block of Longview Dr. The subject was located and was found to have an active warrant out of Miami County. Bobby D. Olinger, of Peru, was taken into custody on a Miami County Warrant for Harassment.
8:33 a.m. Report of a burglary in the 50 block of Strawtown Pike. The investigation led to an arrest. Daniel J. Buffington, 38, of Peru, was arrested on charges of Burglary of a Non-Dwelling, and Possession of Stolen Property.
10:23 a.m. Report of trespassing in the 1 block of Center St. The complainant advised that there was someone inside an abandoned trailer. Officers found the back door unlocked. The trailer was cleared, and everything checked ok. Assistance given.

The officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle, they stated that they were talking in the car due to their parent not wanting company in the house. Everything checked ok.

7:29 a.m. Report of a loud music complaint in the 100 block of E. 2nd St. The officer arrived at the residence where a male was in the backyard playing music extremely loudly. The male appeared to be intoxicated and refused to speak with the officer. The music was turned down and the male subject went inside. No further action taken at this time. Assistance given.
8:19 a.m. Report of a 911 hang-up in the 900 block of W. Main St. Accidental dial. Checked ok.
9:36 a.m. Officers assisted with a medical call in the 300 block of W. 6th St.
10:54 a.m. An officer stood by while the Street Department cleared debris from the roadway in the 1 block of Logan St.

Chili Ave./E. 9th St. Several vehicles were given verbal warnings about crossing the tracks with the stop arm down. The railroad advised that they would move the train enough to clear the circuit.
2:11 p.m. An officer answered questions for a citizen at Dukes Memorial Hospital regarding non-essential travel.
2:23 p.m. Officers at the Peru Police Department spoke with an individual regarding a civil issue. The subject was advised to contact the courts if they could not come to an agreement with the other party.
3:08 p.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle in the area of W. Main St./S. Broadway St. The officer provided emergency lighting while the vehicle was pushed out of the roadway.
4:27 p.m. Report of a counterfeit $20 bill at Burger King on N. Broadway St. The business did not wish to make a formal complaint at this time.
4:29 p.m. Report of an individual at Dollar General on E. Washington St. who was asking other customers to purchase items for them. The officer spoke with the subject who denied asking people to buy them things. The subject did say a woman gave them a pack of cigarettes for helping her with her purchases. The subject said that they are homeless but are trying to get back to Kokomo. The subject left the property traveling toward Oakdale. The officer told them that Kokomo was south of Peru. The subject said they wanted to take the back roads.
