2:29 a.m. Officers were involved in a brief vehicle pursuit in the 100 block of E. 2nd St. Marco Camarean, 20, of Peru, was arrested on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Reckless Driving. The subject was also issued citations.
3:22 a.m. Report of trespassing in the 60 block of E. Canal St. No further information provided.
3:41 a.m. Extra patrol at West City Park.
6:57 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St./W. 5th St. Written warning issued.
7:06 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St./W. 5th St. Written warning issued.
9:10 a.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of W. 5th St. The subject was located. No further investigation required.
9:20 a.m. Report of two unconscious subjects in a truck parked at the Peru Mart on W. Main St. Officers arrived on scene and later found two subjects to be in possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and marijuana. James Bellar, 32, of Peru, and Kelli Runkel, 30, of Logansport, were arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Marijuana.
9:56 a.m. Report of a traffic accident with injuries in the area of N. Chili Ave./E. US Route 24. A 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by John Bechtol, of LaFountain, was traveling north on State Road 19 at the intersection of US 24 West. Mr. Bechtol was stopped in the median, as he continued north on State Road 19 he stated that he did not see the 1998 Buick LeSabre driven by Kyle Burrow, of Logansport. Burrows attempted to swerve to avoid a collision but was unable to get out of the way. Bechtol’s vehicle collided with Burrow’s vehicle causing disabling damage to both vehicles. Both subjects reported injuries. Traffic signs were damaged in the accident. The State Highway Department was notified of the damage to the signs.
11:31 p.m. Report of a possible breaking and entering in the 800 block of Bobtail Ct. The residence was cleared by law enforcement. This is a civil issue between landlord and tenant.
11:43 a.m. Report of an alarm in the 900 block of Rosewood Dr. Accidental set-off. Checked ok.
2:05 p.m. An officer assisted with a civil issue regarding property in the 300 block of E. Main St.
2:06 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 300 block of Jackson Ave.
3:46 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual in the 100 block of W. 7th St. who reported that the toolbox in their vehicle had been moved away from the cab of their truck. The complainant believed that someone had tried to steal it in the overnight hours of 03/09/2020. No damage was reported to the vehicle or the toolbox. The complainant wanted a report made for the record.

3:58 p.m. Report of an SUV in the ditch in the area of 150 E./Cherry Lane. Unable to locate.

4:06 p.m. An officer disposed of a syringe located in the grass near the intersection of W. 7th St./N. Cass St.

4:53 p.m. Report of a robbery in the 300 block of N. Fremont St. Armed robbery of personal items while attempting to conduct a private sale of an item. Suspects noted.
4:56 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. 100 E./Apache Dr. Written warning issued.
6:47 p.m. Traffic stop in the 300 block of S. Broadway Ave. Information and summons issued.
6:50 p.m. Report of a suspicious package or item in the 200 block of E. 6th St. No further information provided.
6:52 p.m. Officers assisted a citizen to obtain a ride to Kokomo from the area of N. Grant St./W. 9th St.
7:15 p.m. An officer conducted follow-up to an earlier call in the 100 block of N. Cass St.
8:21 p.m. Officers located a subject with an active arrest warrant in the area of Blackhawk Ct./100 E. Randy Garrett, 37, of Peru, was arrested on a Miami County Warrant and on charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
9:13 p.m. Report of a disabled vehicle at Mr. Weenie on N. Broadway St. The occupant of the vehicle advised that they were waiting for help. Assistance given.
9:16 p.m. Report of an impaired driver at Arby’s on W. Main St. Miami County Sheriff’s Department handled this call.
9:47 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St./E. Washington Ave. Verbal warning issued.
10:07 p.m. An escort was provided in the 800 block of N. Broadway St.
10:28 p.m. Officers located a wanted subject in the 300 block of Blackhawk Ct. Cala Crist, 33, of Denver, was taken into custody on a Miami County Warrant for Failure to Appear, and on a charge of Driving While Suspended.
11:11 p.m. An officer spoke with an individual in the 300 block of Adams Ave. in reference to a property damage accident on State Road 19 south of US 24. The driver, John Keeney, 71, of Peru, stated that he fell asleep on State Road 19 south of US 24. He struck an object and then drove home. Upon arrival, the officer met with Mr. Keeney who advised that he had driven home due to having a disabled wife and had to get her home. The officer noted major damage to the passenger side of Keeney’s 2014 Dodge Caravan. Damage was also reported to the windshield and all the passenger side windows. The officer drove to the location and observed that a telephone utility pole was splintered and leaning away from the roadway. The pole was still intact and deemed not to be a hazard at this time. Photos were taken of the vehicle and the utility pole. Dispatch was notified of the damaged pole.
11:53 p.m. An officer assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department to return a runaway juvenile to their parents' custody from the 200 block of W. 12th St.
