Peru, IN – The Miami County Republican Party, led by Chairman Ethan Manning, has selected Susan Stanley as their candidate for City Clerk-Treasurer in the upcoming Peru Municipal Elections. Ms. Stanley will face off against Democrat Tish Soldi in the November 5, 2019 election.
Stanley was born in Miami County and attended Maconaquah High School. She worked for Delco Electronics in Kokomo for thirty-four years. During her service with Delco, she earned an Applied Science Degree in Business. Upon retiring from Delco, she obtained a Real Estate license and sold Real Estate for Century 21 Creative in Kokomo/Howard County.
In 2015, she decided she wanted to come home to Peru and so she sold her house and relocated back to Peru.
Stanley’s goals if elected are to make sure the office is run with the utmost integrity. The revenue is very tight now and it is critically important for the money that goes out is used correctly and efficiently.
Stanley is active in the Woman’s Republican Committee as well as pledging a local sorority. She has also been active in renovating her home over the last three years.
“This is the first time I have ever run for office,” said Stanley. “It really never occurred to me until just recently that I would have anything to offer, but I think at this point an time in my life, I think I finally have come to a point where I think I can do something for the community and give back for a change and I would like to have a chance to do that.”
Stanley will be at the Republican fair booth this Tuesday and Friday evening to meet voters.
