4:18 a.m. A report of loud music in the 35000 block of Altus Ct., Peru. The subjects advised they would turn the music down.

7:49 a.m. A deputy assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 2800 block of S. Hilltop Dr., Peru.

8:05 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of E. 800 N. / N. Meridian Rd., Denver.

10:13 a.m. A caller in the 1100 block of W. Main St., Peru had questions regarding possible harassment.

10:20 a.m. A deputy conducted a welfare check on a person in the area of N. 700 E. / E. US Route 24, Wabash.

10:24 a.m. A caller reported being harassed by a member of his ex-girlfriend. The caller was at the Courthouse in the process of seeking a protective order and wanted this incident for the record.

11:24 a.m. A report of a traffic hazard in the area of S. Business 31 / S. 200 W., Peru.

1:01 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. 550 E. / E. Wabash Rd., Peru. Tyler J. Backus, 21 of Peru was taken into custody on a probation violation warrant and a charge of Driving While Suspended. He was also issued a citation for speeding.

2:27 p.m. Attempted protective order service in the 60 block of S. Chestnut St., Peru. No contact was made with the subject of the order.

3:45 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of S. State Road 19 / E. 500 S., Peru. Janet Elson was traveling west on CR 500 S., towards State Road 19 in the Buick Regal when she attempted to proceed through the intersection and struck a Chevrolet Impala driven by Melissa Graft. No injuries were reported.

4:06 p.m. A person came to the Miami County Sheriff’s Department to report child abuse/neglect by a caregiver. This matter is under investigation.

4:40 p.m. A report of an impaired driver in the area of S. State Road 19 / E. 500 S., Peru. A deputy was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

4:56 p.m. A report of an unconscious person in the 2900 block of W. 800 S., Bunker Hill. This call was handled by the Indiana State Police.

5:18 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the 4700 block of W. 400 S. A deputy attempted to locate a motorcycle rider that had struck a fence and crashed. The driver was picked up and possibly taken to a hospital prior to arrival. The deputy was unable to locate the subject at Dukes Memorial.

5:19 p.m. A report of a vehicle with possible unrestrained children in the area of S. Business 31 / S. US Route 31, Peru. Everything checked ok.

5:20 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of N. 300 E. / E. Wabash Rd., Peru. A deputy was unable to locate.

5:37 a.m. A report of a fire in the 100 block of S. Elm St., Bunker Hill. The deputy was advised to disregard call while en-route.

6:17 p.m. A deputy attempted a welfare check in the 2800 block of S. Hilltop Dr., Peru. Unable to locate the subject.

6:33 p.m. A report of a tree in the roadway in the 1300 block of W. 1200 N., Macy.

7:08 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. 600 N. / N. US Route 31, Peru. Citation issued.

7:48 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the 100 block of Fuller Ave., Peru. Deputy was advised to disregard by Peru Police Department.

7:51 p.m. A deputy assisted ISP with a traffic stop in the area of W. State Road 16 / N. US Route 31, Denver.

8:58 p.m. Attempted protective order service in the 60 block of S. Chestnut St., Peru. No contact was made with the subject of the order.

9:40 p.m. A report of a possible underage party in the area of E. State Road 124 / S. 510 E., Peru. Everything checked ok.

12:15 a.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of US Route 31 / W. State Road 18, Kokomo. Andrew Edgington, 47 of Peru was stopped for a red light on State Road 18 at US Route 31 when Kevin Nystrom, 33 of Peru failed to yield and rear-ended Edgington’s 2018 RAM truck with his 2013 Dodge Avenger. No injuries were reported.

12:18 a.m. A report of a theft at Village Pantry on N. Foreman Dr., Peru. The store clerk advised after contacting the Sheriff’s Department, the suspect had paid for everything and the clerk did not wish to pursue anything further at this time.

1:03 a.m. A deputy assisted a citizen with a disabled vehicle in the area of W. 200 N. / N. US Route 31, Peru.

2:44 a.m. A deputy assisted a citizen with a disabled vehicle in the area of E. State Road 18 / S. State Road 19, Converse.

6:23 a.m. Citizen assistance in the area of E. 800 S. / S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill.

11:57 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. 950 E. / E. State Road 18, Converse.

1:29 a.m. Traffic accident with damage in the 2300 block of S. Dwight Ave., Peru. A caller reported that his vehicle was struck overnight while parked at a friend’s residence. Unknown suspect for the second vehicle.

1:48 p.m. A caller advised he was trying to get his phone and vehicle back from his wife. He was advised of different options on how to proceed.

2:08 p.m. A woman in the 36000 block of Beale Ct., Peru reported she had a crossbow missing from her garage sometime in the past week. For the record only at this time.

3:03 p.m. A report of a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Donaldson Ave., Peru. Both parties stated no crime had been committed and agreed to remain separated for the evening.

3:29 p.m. A report of a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of S. Strawtown Pike, Peru. Parties stated no crime had taken place. Assistance was given.

3:38 p.m. A report of a possible burglary in the 35000 block of Altus Ct., Peru. A man and a woman reported that their friend had broken into their home and took a TV and Xbox. The woman advised that she did not wish to pursue charges against the subject due to being a close friend. She stated she is going to settle this situation herself and did not wish to pursue anything further.

4:22 p.m. A report of a traffic violation in the area of W. 1400 S. / S. US Route 31, Kokomo. A deputy was unable to locate.

4:26 p.m. A deputy spoke with a man in the area of E. 250 S. / S. Strawtown Pike, Peru who had questions about people littering on his property.

5:08 p.m. A traffic accident with injuries in the area of N. 100 E. / E. 400 N., Peru.

5:22 p.m. Units responded to the 1300 block of E. 400 N., Peru for a two-vehicle fatal crash. The investigation was handled by the Indiana State Police.

6:10 p.m. A report of a fire in the 3100 block of W. 800 N., Denver. A deputy assisted Denver Fire Dept. with a house fire.

8:21 p.m. A deputy spoke with a man in the 2700 block of Capehart St., Peru regarding a civil issue over property.

11:15 p.m. A report of a juvenile issue in the 100 block of S. Emmons St., Denver. A deputy made multiple attempts to contact a juvenile regarding possible harassment.

1:45 a.m. A deputy assisted Peru Police with a vehicle pursuit in the area of S. Benton St. / E. 3rd St.

6:54 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of W. State Road 18 / S. 100 W., Kokomo. Warning issued.

9:05 a.m. A report of an assault was taken at Woodland Hills Mobile Home Park on S. 300 W., Peru. A caller reported unwanted advances by an individual he had met online. This matter is currently under investigation.

10:45 a.m. 911 Hang-up in the 2400 block of S. Wallick Rd., Peru. Checked ok.

12:41 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the 4700 block of W. 400 S., Peru. A report of a possible motorcycle crash. The crash had already been investigated by another deputy and the owner had not returned to remove the vehicle.

3:47 p.m. A report of a suspicious person in the area of W. 400 S. / S. 400 W., Peru. A caller reported a man attempting to retrieve a wrecked motorcycle from a fence line.

4:42 p.m. A report of a domestic disturbance in the 2000 block of Shaw St., Peru. A deputy spoke with a woman who had questions about no contact orders.

5:46 p.m. A report of harassment in the 3100 block of S. Wallick Rd., Peru. A deputy spoke with a male over the phone in reference to his ex-wife harassing him about a civil matter. He also stated she was stalking him at Kroger. The man became upset due to the lack of options and hung up the phone.

6:08 p.m. A deputy spoke with a man over the phone in the 1700 block of S. Lincoln St., Peru who had questions about no contact orders.

6:26 p.m. A deputy spoke with a citizen in the 1700 block of N. Foreman Dr., Peru who had questions about no contact orders.

6:35 p.m. A syringe was reported at the Hi N Dri Mobile Home Park. A deputy responded and disposed of the syringe.

6:57 p.m. A deputy checked on a disabled vehicle in the area of N. Foreman Dr. / Warhawk Rd., Peru.

8:01 p.m. Citizen assistance in the 8700 block of S. 200 W., Bunker Hill. A deputy spoke with a male caller who had questions about protective orders.

8:13 p.m. Offender address verification in the 400 block of E. 5th St., Peru.

8:24 p.m. A deputy assisted a citizen with an animal that was having a medical problem in the 100 block of W. Pearl St., Bunker Hill.
