12:08 a.m. A deputy conducted a transport from Dukes Memorial Hospital.
1:06 a.m. Citizen assistance in the area of Norton Ave. / Randolph St., Peru. An intoxicated subject advised his friends had ditched him and he had no way to get home. He was given a courtesy transport to his residence.
1:20 a.m. A request for a welfare check in the 400 block of S. Main St., Amboy. ISP handled this call.
5:12 a.m. Traffic hazard in the area of W. 1050 S. / S. US Route 31, Bunker Hill. No additional information was provided on this call.
6:12 a.m. Citizen assistance in the area of W. US Route 24 / N. US Route 31, Peru. A deputy assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.
8:29 a.m. A deputy attempted a welfare check on a female in a white truck in the area of W. 1400 S. / S. US Route 31, Kokomo. The vehicle described was not located.
9:29 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Business 31 / S. US Route 31, Peru. Warning issued.
9:37 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Business 31 / S. US Route 31, Peru. Warning issued.
10:28 a.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of W. 900 S. / S. US Route 31, Bunker Hill. Aaron Smith of Kokomo was operating a 2011 GM southbound on US Route 31. Cynthia Williams of South Bend was traveling beside Smith in a 2016 Hyundai. Smith attempted to enter Williams’ lane causing a same direction sideswipe. Minimal damage reported. No injuries.
12:45 p.m. A deputy conducted a welfare check on a person in the 1700 block of W. Cherry St., Miami. Everything checked ok.
12:53 p.m. A deputy spoke with a citizen in the 400 block of N. Elm St., Bunker Hill who reported that his daughter’s grandmother refused to transport the child back to his residence after letting her spend the night. The caller advised the grandmother is not refusing to give the child back but is refusing to transport. The man was advised to find a ride to go pick up the child. Grandmother is not required by law to transport. If Grandmother refuses to hand over the child, law enforcement would look into the matter.
1:36 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of S. US Route 31 / W. State Road 218, Peru. A 2000 Mercury operated by Mark Rubino of Michigan rear-ended a 2016 Nissan operated by Brenda Welcher of Florida. Rubino’s vehicle was then rear-ended by a 2012 Honda operated by Laura Gilbert of Columbus, IN. All vehicles sustained substantial damage. No injuries were reported. A state crash report was completed.
2:05 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of W. Broadway St. / S. US Route 31, Bunker Hill. Ronald Starkey, 77 of Bunker Hill was attempting to cross northbound traffic at the 218 intersection when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Starkey’s vehicle was struck in the front bumper by a vehicle pulling a trailer that did not stop. Starkey’s vehicle sustained damage to the front bumper. No injuries were reported. A local crash report was completed.
2:36 p.m. A report of criminal mischief in the 10000 block of N. State Road 19, Macy. Damage to a mailbox. The incident is under investigation.
2:48 p.m. A deputy checked on a vehicle in the area of S. Pipe Creek Mill Rd. / S. 200 W., Bunker Hill that was parked at a property that has had repeated issues with trespassers. The vehicle checked ok.
3:06 p.m. A deputy located a dog walking in the 2200 block of S. Business 31, Peru. The animal disappeared into the woods and the deputy was unable to locate.
3:51 p.m. A deputy spoke with individuals in the 400 block of S. Elm St., Bunker Hill in reference to a child custody issue.
4:15 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 4800 block of E. 400 S., Peru. No additional information was provided on this call.
4:53 p.m. A report of harassment in the 1500 block of N. Meridian Rd., Peru. No additional information was provided on this call.
5:57 p.m. A report of harassment in the 200 block of E. Sycamore St., Macy. A deputy spoke with a woman by phone who wanted to report harassment of her juvenile son by an adult female resident of Macy.
6:40 p.m. Traffic accident with damage in the area of W. 1000 N. / N. US Route 31, Macy. 47-year-old Donald Ferguson of Ohio lost control of his vehicle after braking in an attempt to avoid collision with another motor vehicle while traveling northbound on US Route 31. Ferguson’s vehicle left the roadway and caused damage to the camper that was in tow. No other vehicles were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
6:38 p.m. A deputy assisted the Indiana Department of Child Services by attempting a welfare check in the 1300 block of Donaldson Ave., Peru. A deputy was unable to contact anyone at the residence.
8:04 p.m. A deputy spoke with a subject in the 1500 block of Forbes Ave., Peru who had questions concerning child custody.
