12:05 a.m. A report of an unwanted guest in the 400 block of Washington Ave. Follow up from a prior call that resulted in an arrest of Christopher Alspach, 56 of Peru on charges of Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct and Intimidation.

1:12 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Brownell St. / W. 6th St. Written warning issued.
1:17 a.m. K9 deployment in the area of N. Brownell St. / W. 6th St. Free air sniff.
1:37 a.m. Citizen assistance in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. A report of an unknown individual knocking on a door.
4:40 a.m. Warrant Service in the 500 block of Jefferson Ave. Molly Marburger, 28 of Peru was arrested on a Cass County Warrant.
8:34 a.m. A report of trespassing was taken at the Peru Police Department. A trespass warning was requested on a subject for an address on Jackson Avenue.
8:43 a.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance at Save-A-Lot at Broadway Plaza. A woman had taken to pictures that were outside a Good Will box. The woman thought since they were outside it was ok to take them. According to the officer, she was advised otherwise and agreed to take them back rather than go to jail.
9:09 a.m. 911 Hang-up in the 300 block of W. 12th St. Confirmed child playing on the phone. Checked ok.
9:34 a.m. Parking problem in the 300 block of W. 12th St. No additional information was provided on this call.
11:56 a.m. Citizen assistance at the Peru Police Department. A citizen had questions about interstate firearm transport. The officer directed the person to the internet for more information on this matter.
12:56 p.m. An officer assisted EMS with a medical call in the 100 block of N. Benton St.
2:09 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the area of N. Benton St. / 6th Street Alley. An officer checked the area and could not locate anyone.
2:10 p.m. A report of a controlled substance problem in the area of W. Broadway St. / S. US Route 31, Bunker Hill. No additional information was provided on this call.
2:23 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 400 block of E. 3rd St. Confirmed accidental dial, checked ok.
3:34 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 200 block of W. 3rd St. Confirmed accidental dial, checked ok.
3:40 p.m. Citizen assistance at the Peru Police Department. A request for information regarding health department visitation. The complainant felt that the complaint on the residence was not valid and wished to find out who called it in. No police report was on file reference this health code violation. The complainant was directed to the Department of Health for follow-up.
4:28 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the 100 block of W. 7th St. A report of a man exiting an abandoned building. Officers were not able to locate the man and the residence checked secure.
4:30 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Broadway St. / Daniel St. Stop initiated for failure to signal a turn. Following a K9 “Free air sniff”, suspected methamphetamine was located. At this time a male passenger ran from the scene. The man was apprehended with the assistance of Sergeant Raber and K9 Fargo. David Hood of Peru was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting Law Enforcement.
4:34 p.m. K9 deployment in the area of N. Broadway St. / Daniel St. K9 deployment and apprehension.
5:30 p.m. Domestic Disturbance in the area of N. Broadway St. / W. 7th St. A report of a man yelling at a woman across the street. An officer checked the area and could not locate the subjects.
6:03 p.m. An officer conducted a welfare check in the 20 block of Washington Ave. A report of a juvenile inside a vehicle with the windows up while parents were inside a store. An officer spoke with the juvenile who checked ok. The juvenile did have a window rolled down and was old enough and capable enough to exit if needed. The officer also spoke with the child’s mother who stated she understood the severity of the issue and made sure her son knew he could exit the vehicle if he needed to do so.
6:14 p.m. A report of a domestic disturbance at the McClure’s station on E. Main St. An officer spoke with both subjects individually. Everything checked ok and they were released from the scene.
6:19 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 100 block of S. Fremont St.
6:28 p.m. A report of a fight in the 70 block of E. 5th St. This was a verbal argument only between a man and a woman. Everything checked ok and both subjects were released from the scene.
6:30 p.m. A report of a juvenile problem in the 300 block of W. Main St. Assistance was given.
6:52 p.m. A report of a controlled substance problem at Dukes Memorial Hospital. No additional information was provided on this call.
6:56 p.m. A report of a suspicious person/circumstance in the 60 block of N. Fremont St. A report of an unknown male inside a residence. The male was intoxicated and sleeping in a back room. The male was identified and given a courtesy transport to his residence.
7:38 p.m. A report of a fight in the 200 block of E. 9th St. This was a verbal disagreement over items. The subjects were able to work it out.
7:53 p.m. Property damage accident in the 300 block of E. 5th St., Peru. Jacob Thoden reported crashing his own motorcycle while pulling out of the garage. The motorcycle sustained minor damage to the rear fender. A report was made for insurance purpose only.
7:53 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Wabash St. / E. Main St. Verbal warning issued.
8:21 p.m. A report of loud music in the 100 block of N. Benton St. An officer was unable to locate the source of the music.
8:58 p.m. A report of a gas leak in the 300 block of Jackson Ave. A man broke a gas line while excavating on his property. The officer along with the Peru Fire Department stood by until NIPSCO arrived on scene.
9:12 p.m. Traffic stop at Bourne End Trailer Park entrance.
9:45 p.m. A report of threats made via Facebook was taken at the Peru Police Department. The complainant was provided information on protection orders and the process to obtain one.
9:53 p.m. Agency assistance at Dukes Memorial Hospital. An officer stood by to assist ISP with an unruly juvenile.
10:59 p.m. A report of a fire in the 60 block of S. Lafayette St. A tree fell on a power line, causing a small fire to ignite on the power line on or very near the roof of a residence. The officer assisted Peru Fire with maintaining a perimeter around the area while Peru Utilities arrived and cut the power to the line.
11:14 p.m. Several officers responded to a fight in the area of N. Walnut St. / W. 6th St. No additional information was provided on this call.
11:22 p.m. A report of a juvenile problem in the area of N. Lafayette St. / W. 5th St. Officers checked the area but were not able to locate anyone.
