12:27 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 400 block of Madison Ave. Someone attempted to gain entry to the residence via the front door. Assistance was given.

12:42 a.m. A report of a strange odor in the area of N. Chili Ave. / Harrison Ave. Officers could not locate the source of the odor.

1:59 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Jefferson St. / W. 7th St. Warning issued.

1:59 a.m. K9 deployment in the area of N. Jefferson St. / W. 7th St. Free air sniff.

3:03 a.m. An officer located a juvenile out past curfew in the area of Clay St. / E. 5th St. The juvenile was transported home. A citation was issued.

3:33 a.m. An officer located subjects parked on the side of the road in the area of N. Grant St. / W. 10th St. The subjects were looking for lost keys. Checked ok.

3:36 a.m. K9 deployment in the area of N. Grant St. / W. 10th St. Free air sniff.

3:55 a.m. A report of suspicious subjects at the Peru Skate Park on W. Canal St. after hours. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone.

6:19 a.m. An officer conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of Monroe Ave. Everything checked ok.

7:00 a.m. Agency assistance in the 200 block of W. 9th St. The officer reported that no one was home and there were no vehicles around.

8:47 a.m. 911 Hang-up in the 200 block of W. 2nd St., Peru. This was a confirmed accidental dial, everything checked ok.

9:45 a.m. A report of harassment was taken at the Peru Police Department. Assistance was given.

10:12 a.m. 911 Hang-up in the 100 block of E. 8th St. Report of a possible gas leak.

10:25 a.m. Property damage accident in the 00 block of W. Canal St. Jeffrey E. Harvey, 40 of Peru was operating a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on W. Canal St. and stopped at the traffic light at S. Broadway St. A bicyclist entered the crosswalk and Harvey attempted to back up to give the bicyclist room when he backed into a 2010 GMC Terrain operated by Tia Dannielle Behny, 35 of Peru. Damage is estimated at between $1,001 and $2,500. No injuries were reported.

12:24 p.m. Personal injury accident in the area of N. Smith St. / Van Buren Ave. Craig D. Doughty, 46 of North Salem was operating a 2009 GMC truck eastbound on Van Buren St. and had stopped for the stop sign at Smith Street. Doughty failed to see a 1997 Chevrolet operated by Nichole L. Myers, 39 of Peru who was northbound on Smith Street. Doughty pulled directly into the path of the Chevrolet and was struck broadside. A witness stated he thought the Chevrolet was traveling faster than the 30 mile per hour speed limit. All occupants refused medical treatment. Damage is estimated at between $10,001 and $25,000.

1:58 p.m. An officer responded to the 100 block of E. Spring St. in reference to a civil matter regarding the trimming of a tree.

2:36 p.m. Traffic hazard in the area of E. State Road 124 / Wallace Ave. Tree in the roadway. It was removed.

3:12 p.m. A report of two speeding vehicles in the area of N. Kelly Ave. / W. Main St. An officer located both vehicles and did not observe any traffic infractions.

3:17 p.m. 911 Hang-up at Kroger on W. Main St. Confirmed accidental dial, checked ok.

3:24 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle in the 3900 block of N. Mexico Rd., Mexico.

3:48 p.m. An officer responded to the 100 block of Fuller Ave. in reference to a civil matter regarding a breach of a lease agreement. Assistance was given.

4:12 p.m. A report of an unwanted guest in the 20 block of Boulevard. The issue was addressed.

4:30 p.m. An officer assisted a citizen with a locked vehicle at Kroger on W. Main St.

4:40 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Fremont St. / W. 6th St. Citation issued.

4:52 p.m. Parking problem in the 500 block of Monroe Ave. A vehicle parked in the grass. The owner agreed to move the vehicle. Verbal warning issued.

4:59 p.m. 911 Hang-up in the 20 block of Boulevard. Everything checked ok.

4:59 p.m. Parking problem on Monroe Ave. A written warning was issued.

5:19 p.m. An officer responded to the 200 block of Monroe Ave. for a civil matter involving child custody. Assistance was given.

5:22 p.m. Citizen assistance in the 300 block of E. Main St. The complainant reports they allow another male to regularly borrow a bicycle but this time the male failed to return it on time. A report of theft was taken.

5:49 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Wayne St. / E. Canal St. Written warning issued.

7:19 p.m. A report of a traffic hazard caused by construction materials in the area of N. Broadway St. / Boulevard. The area checked ok with no issues.

7:36 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Hood St. / W. 2nd St. Warning issued.

7:41 p.m. Parking problem in the 500 block of N. Water St. Warning issued.

8:17 p.m. Animal problem in the area of N. Grant St. / W. 12th St. Loose dog in the middle of the road. The dog appeared to be overheated. The dog was given water and transported to the animal shelter.

8:26 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Clay St. / E. Canal St. Verbal warning issued.

8:46 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Wayne St. / E. Canal St. Written and verbal warnings issued.

8:54 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. Clay St. / E. 3rd St. Warning issued.
